PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT

On September 1, 2010 a public safety allert has been issued by the Health Department of Washington County in response to a confirmed case of
RABIES
in the College Road area.  Residents of this area are strongly advised to not approach or handle any stray cats or wildlife and to avoid any animals behaving in an unusual manner.  All animals living in the vacinity should be vaccinated against rabies.

Kaplan University Employees Dress Down for the Humane Society of Washington County

Employees of Kaplan University recently donated the proceeds from their Jeans Day program to the Humane Society of Washington County.  On Friday August 27, 2010 Kaplan University’s Lisa Copenhaver Dean of Student Affairs and Bonnie Mazzocchi Student Success Coordinator presented the donation of $196.00 to HSWC Executive Director Paul Miller.


Howard’s Art Supplies & Frames 5th annual Art for the Animals Challenge Underway

Howard’s Art Supplies and Frames is hosting the 5th annual Art for the Animals Challenge, a unique and inspiring fundraiser.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC). Submissions are open to local artists of all ages and talent levels.

2010 Bark In The Park

Enjoy a day of fun for the entire family, including your beloved canine companion. The fun begins at 10:00 a.m. with the Blessing of the Animals by Pastor Jerry Lowans of St. Matthews & Washington Square United Methodist Churches in Hagerstown.  The Paws on the Path walk through the park will follow and contests, games, prizes, trophies, vendors & demonstrations will complete the day.

Polar Bear Plunge
Be freezin' for a reason and take a dip in the Potomac for the homeless animals at the Humane Society of Washington County.  From December 31st on, registration will be on site at the River Bottom Park in Williamsport on New Year's Day.  Event Photos
