Bicyclists and Pedestrians Need to Be Aware of Dogs

Hagerstown, MD:  The Humane Society of Washington County has received a number of phone calls concerning confrontations between dogs and pedestrians, joggers and bicyclists throughout the county.  Paul Miller, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Washington County is asking these individuals to be aware of their surroundings and be alert to aggressive dog behavior.

Hay Angels Headed Back to Washington County

Hagerstown, MD:  The hay angels from Baltimore and Frederick counties are headed back to Washington County this weekend for a Sunday March 11th drop off.   Given the moniker “Hay Angels” by the Baltimore media, Monkton residents Fran Burns, Maureen Haley and Joanna Kelly and Lauren Otto from Frederick County have been working on this second hay caravan since their first successful hay delivery on February 17th.

Hagerstown, MD:  On February 17th a ten trailer hay caravan, escorted by State Police First Sergeant Russel Newell, originated in the parking lot of Sears at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre in Hunt Valley MD and reached Hagerstown Maryland in grand style.

Hagerstown, MD:  A caravan of over 400 square bales hay donated from residents of the Baltimore, MD area is headed to Washington County this weekend.   Given the moniker “Hay Angels” by the Baltimore media, Monkton residents Fran Burns, Maureen Haley and Joanna Kelly and Lauren Otto from Frederick County have been working for a month arranging the caravan. 

Hay Angels Second Hay Caravan Arrives in Hagerstown Maryland

Hagerstown, MD:  The second official “Hay Angels” hay caravan from Baltimore and Frederick counties to Washington County reached its destination on Saturday March 11th, delivering over 700 bales of hay, 200 pounds of carrots and 40 salt blocks to the horses rescued from a farm in Sharpsburg, Maryland in December 2006.
