Submissions for the Centennial Paws for a Cause Statue Design Contest is now closed.

​

As we prepare to celebrate 100 years of serving the community, we're excited to announce the Centennial Paws for a Cause Statue Design Contest sponsored by Howard’s Arts and Frames! In honor of this important milestone in our history, we are introducing 12 fiberglass cat and dog statues that will be hand painted by local artists – and that artist could be you!

 

Completed statues will be displayed at local businesses for several weeks this fall, then auctioned off at our 100th Anniversary Gala in November. Artists’ contributions to this project will give them the unique opportunity to use their talents for the benefit of the local community. Each winning artist will receive a $100 Howard’s Arts and Frames gift card to help cover the cost of their supplies. 

 

If you’re interested in applying for the chance to paint one of the statues for this special event, please fill out an application and return it to Anna Somers at asomers@hswcmd.org or drop it off at the shelter located at 13011 Maugansville Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740. The application deadline has been extended from June 14th to June 30th!
