Adoptions
Welcome to the Humane Society of Washington County’s online overview of the adoption process, we are delighted that you are considering adopting one (or more) of our animals.
Each year, we take in thousands of unwanted, abandoned or abused animals. Everything we do is in the interest of the animals in our care, and aimed at finding them the best possible chance of a good permanent home. Thank you for considering us!
Enjoy learning about some of the animals we currently have available for adoption, and visit the shelter when you have time!
The adoption floors close for Nap Time from 12 pm - 1 pm daily.
Our adoption center is open Monday Through Saturday from 10am until 6pm except for Wednesday when we open at 1pm. Dog interactions will take place until 5pm and the last adoption begins at 5:30pm.
We have a few requirements you must meet before adopting a new companion. To be considered as an adopter today, you must:
-
Be at least 18 years of age
-
Have valid identification with your present address
-
Have a telephone number
-
Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide proper care for your new companion
