PLEASE NOTE: Due to staffing shortages and the high volume of animals we are currently housing, HSWC is temporarily unable to offer end-of-life euthanasia services to the public.

Losing such an important part of the family is never easy. When it is time to say goodbye to your beloved pet, we are here to support you. HSWC offers compassionate owner-requested euthanasia (when available) and cremation services for local pet owners at a reduced cost.
End-of-Life Euthanasia - CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE
Private Cremation
HSWC works with Agape Pet Services to provide private cremation services for pet owners who wish to keep the remains of their pet. Your pet will receive an individual cremation with its remains carefully sealed in a selection of urns. You will be able to pick up the ashes of your beloved pet at the shelter within two weeks. Pet owners have the option to have a name plate added to the front of the urn for an additional $35.
Communal Cremation
Communal cremation services are available for those who do not wish to keep the remains of their pet. For those who choose communal cremation, the remains of your beloved pet will be spread in a private wooded area along a stream in Boonsboro, MD.
