Celebrating 100 Years
Join the Humane Society of Washington County as we celebrate 100 years of helping animals in need!
The Humane Society of Washington County was founded on November 12, 1921 by Ms. Daisy Derby Whipple. At the time, she operated in a one-room building on what is now Wilson Boulevard and began with twelve animals in her care.
100 years later, the Humane Society of Washington County has grown into a progressive animal welfare organization that offers a plethora of services to the community and helps thousands of local animals every year. Join us as we celebrate a century of saving lives and prepare to accomplish even more in the next century.
