Thanks to generous donations from individuals and local businesses, HSWC’s Pet Food Bank is able to help families in Washington County feed their pets when times are tough. A few months of assistance can mean the difference between an animal staying with his or her family and an animal being surrendered to the shelter due to finances.

In an effort to both help everyone in need and collect better data on how we are helping animals in our community, we have reorganized our Pet Food Bank Assistance Program.

HSWC’s Pet Food Bank will now operate Tuesdays 11 AM – 4 PM.

Wet and dry cat food and dog food will be provided, and cat litter will be provided when it's available. Individuals can come once per week to obtain food. You must be a Washington County resident and show a valid state-issued ID to receive benefits. Washington County residents are eligible to receive 3 months of assistance.

If interested in donating food or litter towards our Pet Food Bank Program, please bring donations to the Receiving/Lost & Found entrance of the building. Donations are always appreciated!

If you have any questions, please call 301-733-2060 and press 2 when prompted to speak with our Resource Center staff. Thank you!
